Narrative
SILVER SPRING, MD – A pedestrian sustained fatal injuries Thursday when a vehicle struck them near a busy Silver Spring intersection.
The accident happened just before 7:20 p.m. at East Franklin Avenue and Seminole Street, which is west of MD-193 and north of Upper Long Branch Neighborhood Park.
It’s not yet clear what caused the crash, and there’s no word yet about whether the victim was using a designated crosswalk when they were hit.
Medics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital where they died from their injuries. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
The driver involved in the wreck stopped to render aid and speak with police.
