Narrative
CALVERTON, MD – Two lives were claimed in a rear-end collision on I-95 South that happened after 10:40 p.m. Thursday. Maryland State Police said the driver of a 2017 Dodge Charger was traveling in the right lane and wanted to switch lanes in order to pass a semi-truck. However, in making the shift the driver struck the back of a Hyundai Elantra. The force of the crash caused both vehicles to travel in opposite directions. The impact caused the Hyundai to catch fire. The driver of the Dodge – 24-year-old Michael Daniel – was hospitalized for his injuries. The Hyundai driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
