Narrative
RIVERDALE PARK, MD – A 5-year-old and 10-year-old child lost their lives, and an adult supervising them was injured after they were struck by a van driver pursuing a left turn Tuesday. This collision happened at the Taylor Road and Riverdale Road intersection. The children, who were later identified as 5-year-old Sky Sosa and 10-year-old Shalom Mbah, were taken to a hospital where they later died. Officials say Sky and Shalom were walking to their school, Riverdale Elementary School, at the time of the crash. The adult with them, who was only identified as one of the kids’ relatives, sustained non-life-threatening wounds. There have been no reports of pending charges.
