Narrative
WALDORF, MD – One person died, and two others sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash in north-central Charles County.
The incident occurred around 2:53 p.m. at the intersection of US-301, or the Crain Highway, and Acton Lane, which is on the northeast side of Waldorf.
Police say that a southbound GMC ran a red light at the intersection and struck a northbound Ford as the latter vehicle was turning left on Action Lane.
The collision killed a passenger in the Ford at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their name to the public.
Medics airlifted one driver and transported the other driver via air ambulance to area hospitals.
Police say that the driver of the GMC may have been impaired at the time of the accident.
